2004-10-27 02:43:00 | It appears that AVG 6 will not be supported from December. I see that they offer a free trial only of V7 - am I reading it right & there will not be a full free version available? Bye

2004-10-27 03:54:00 | No need to dispair , as there are still 2 free AV's out there. Avast (www.avast.com) and Antivir (http://www.free-av.com/)

2004-10-27 04:01:00 | It is our pleasure to introduce the second BETA release of the completely new generation of AVG Free Edition . Looks like its free to me,only because they referred to it as free though . If they get their marketing advice from isp's they will offer it as free, get you to agree to a contract then start sending bills for abuse of the system .

2004-10-27 04:07:00 | Answer to solve the confusion: Last time I checked, the PAID version of AVG 7 was out of beta and had been fully released. The FREE version of AVG 7 is still in beta, but will be released FREE OF CHARGE before the end of the year (not sure exactly when though, the date has changed a few times). Bletch

2004-10-27 04:11:00 | I see it the same way as 45South and Bletch but Major Geeks (www.majorgeeks.com) appear not to. :| Guess we will just have to wait and see.

2004-10-27 20:04:00 | I'm trying to figure out, how to get rid of the "splash screen" on startup. I know I did it on V6.0 Also fooled me a moment ago, when it did an auto update. Must delve into the settings. Bye
