2004-10-28 05:32:00 | Harvey Normans in Hamilton is huge and I love the Mac section :D Do check the prices on standard stock as usual although the specials are great. Most of the staff are great too and if they don't know they find out. I was looking for a good scanner that will work with Mac & Windows and they couldn't have been more helpful. No point in asking for anything Mac at DSE. :-( Sue

2004-10-28 06:01:00 | nearly all scanners on the market are mac compatible......if not all of them. | metla (154) | |
2004-10-28 07:22:00 | > I hate to say this but DSE have a far better PC > section, although harvey normans do have a big games > section which is quite nice. Generally I use DSE for consumables and Harvey Norman to get the odd thing because they tend to stock alot of things you can't buy anywhere else (like widescreen monitors). All other pc parts I get from Smart PC in Hamilton. I guess it depends on the store, but I often end up in Harveys just to gaze at what I might get one day when I have the money!

2004-10-28 08:03:00 | The Harvey Normans store in Dunedin is pretty good. The computer people are quite helpful as well. At least they don't BS like they do at Smiths City | Baldy (26) | |
2004-10-28 08:47:00 | It can be interesting to lurk near their complaints/service counter. Where else would you hear the sales person suggest that it wasn't the toaster that was faulty - just substandard bread. This after the customer, having previously been told his toaster was "jolly perfect" went home, and returned with toaster and two pieces of toast that were tiger striped to say the least. These are the same drongos that are going to solve your computer problems? Yeah, right. (They knew sod-all about furniture as well) But, just possibly they could be good at gift wrapping, perhaps, maybe.

You know, I'm pretty sure Jack wanted to shout at you, so broken keyboard jokes really don't apply, do they? > Seriously Billy, what was wrong with that statement, I thought it was pretty clever? It's amazing how soon the novelty wears off . |
