Don't be stupid whtafo - of course it was just a rant, but it's still theoretically possible - obscene posting on an NZ website contravenes at least one section of the telecommunications act, and if IDG were to attempt a prosecution, it's quite possible that the ISP would have to release the individual's details. Dur! Only if requested by those in a position to do so such as the Police or Internal Affairs, not to someone random on the intarweb who has a grudge. |

Just noticed WTF posting in it and thought I'd better check it out because it usually takes something interesting to get WTF worked up. Also Greg, I'm sure if the above poster used one of the many free web proxies available even the Police or Internal Affairs would have a hard time finding him, if at all. |
