| 285997 | 2004-10-29 08:32:00 | My Dell Triniton 19'' (about 5 years old) suddenly went blankscreen/on blankscreen/on then quit with nothing but a repititive click similar to what you get when the screen recieves a video signal on startup, accompanied by what could best be described as birdlike chirps. The screen is is in excellent condition physically sharp and with excellent colour and plenty of contrast and brightness adjustment left. No warning of this happening, no physical damage or foreign object ingress. Its not video card as I swapped it for 17'' and this works fine. Tried it with another comp same problem. It makes the same noise regardless of whether its connected to a comp or not. Monitors are not my thin fixing ? |

| 285999 | 2004-10-29 08:41:00 | Its a dell its five years old.=BIN There is a transformer/capacitator type unit in them responsible for this the elec gurus will give you more detail. Be careful of the economics of any repair, 5 year old dell, past use buy, after 5 runs on good luck. D. |
