| 286680 | 2004-11-01 05:35:00 | Hi, I am running XP Home on a HP Pavillion t460a and recently had to reinstall windows with my backup disks that I created from my partition. When all was done I discovered that the computer created a new user and won't let me in the old folder, it keeps saying access denied. how can I get in there. Or is there some way of just deleting it.I tried to delete it but could'nt. Hope this makes all sense. Thanks | chrisabnett (5739) | ||

Access to the home folder of another user is denied to all other non-administrator accounts. >how can I get in there. Or is > there some way of just deleting it.I tried to delete > it but could'nt. Hope this makes all sense. Thanks You can get at the folder by logging in as the owner of the folder. Alternitavely, you can log in as 'Administrator' and do you stuff from there. This account has no password by default, and is not shown on the welcome screen. To use it, either use classic logon or boot in safe mode (this shows the admin account on the welcome screen).
