286401 2004-10-30 23:39:00 Does anyone know of any NZ sites that may sell power supply adpaters for an ASUS 2400H laptop? Im wanting to see whether its worth buying an additional power supply.

I see QMB computers has a universal one (www.qmb.co.nz ) which would be ideal but the Input specs on the back of the laptop says +19V, 6.3A and 120W so the universal one doesnt have enough grunt unless Im misinterpreting the power specs.

286403 2004-11-01 19:14:00 I f you can't find anything else, it would probably do fine if you are not doing heavy processing . Another way to reduce the power demand is to reduce the screen backlighting and follow any other tips for minimising battery consumption, they will have the same effect on mains supply demand .

I'd still look for a higher rated one but if there's nothing else try it . The Asus supply is probably rated for the maximum demand plus a safety factor .

Cheers

286405 2004-11-02 09:43:00 Anyone can source these, and when i priced an official Asus unit it wasn't too expensive, although i can't remember exactly how much it was,at the time i thought it reasonable. metla (154)
286406 2004-11-02 11:36:00 Just call or e-mail anyone who deals in ASUS kit, particularly notebooks.

If you're in Wellington you can't go past Ascent for excellent service and good prices.

Alternatively Quay Computers would be a goer.
