2004-11-02 23:57:00 | For some reason Task Manager only appears minimised in the system tray and at the bottom of the screen. The only options available are "Close" and "Always on Top". Any ideas on how to let it maximise again? I'm puzzled.

2004-11-03 01:20:00 | Thanks. Unfortunately I can't do any of the above except uncheck "Always on Top". The !#$%^&^%%$$# thing just won't do anything except a little message on mouseover of the icon in the tray giving the CPU%. Any other ideas????????

2004-11-03 02:25:00 | OK. Tried that one. Says that the entry has been made to the registry. Still the same problem though. Have had a look at the registry for a setting that might be causing the problem. No dice. I appreciate the help to date. Any more clues?

2004-11-03 02:40:00 | If your system has a dual output video adapter, its possible that Task Manager is running in the second (non existant) screen? If so, right click the task manager in the task bar (not the icon in the tray, but the button in the task bar) and select Move . Then hold down the left arrow button to see if it comes into view . Or the right (depends which side any "phantom" screen is on . You can tell if there is such a setup as your mouse will "dissapear" off the screen on that side) .

2004-11-03 02:54:00 | Unfortunately using the mouse on the icon in the taskbar has no effect. Right-click, left-click, double-click are all ineffective. The only response I can get is from a right mouse click in the tray, with two options ( Close and Always on Top). Totally weird!

2004-11-03 03:25:00 | Still the same as before . Was there an article in PC World about how to run Task Manager in a minimised state? I wonder if I've done something . Can't find it in the PC World search function, or in any magazines round here . Might be my imagination . Thanks again
