287243 2004-11-02 22:06:00 Is it possible to record MP3's on a DVD and then play them through a domestic DVD player ? They all say MP3 on them , but so far they only seem to play CD audio. If DVD audio was possible, you could have a lot of music on one DVD! Jeff C (6349)
287244 2004-11-02 22:13:00 If the DVD player is capable of playing MP3's then there would be no reason why you cant burn them to a DVD instead of a CD. Pete O'Neil (250)

287246 2004-11-02 22:20:00 If u have a stereo that can play mp3's you can get about 192 - 200 mp3s on a single CD. Spacemannz (808)
287247 2004-11-02 22:38:00 If the DVD player has an MP3 logo on it or similar you should just be able to burn MP3's to a bog standard data CD or DVD and it'll decode them on the fly and play them.

Both my DVD players do it no worries and they certainly aren't high end.

287248 2004-11-03 03:22:00 What software do you use to burn? do you burn them into folders, or just straight on? Jeff C (6349)
287249 2004-11-03 03:36:00 U can use Nero, BUT any program that can burn MP3's will do. Just straight to the cd. As is (It'll just burn what MP3/s you have without converting them to WAV or CDA format (If your stereo can play MP3's).

Some stereos like the one here can recognise mp3s in folders / groups. So, u can put the different MP3's into folders like oldies/80s / 90s or something.

BUT this may or may not work on all DVD's / external cd players.

287250 2004-11-03 03:49:00 You can use Nero for audio CD's but there is no option for audio DVD's, only data DVD's? Jeff C (6349)
287251 2004-11-03 03:56:00 You dont want to make an audio DVD/CD you want to make a data DVD/CD. Pete O'Neil (250)
287252 2004-11-03 04:08:00 The option appears, if u run Nero Express. (For MP3 CD). Not Nero itself

Under Music, which brings up the options:

Audio CD
Audio and Data CD
MP3 CD
WMA CD
Nero Digital Audio CD.

If these dont appear on yours, you may need a serial to enable it.

As some plugins for Nero, are part of Nero, BUT some need serials, so u can see, and use them. I'm using 6.6.0.1 of Nero at the mo.

Other versions (5.xxx) may not have the option/s at all.

If u have a DVD burner, you HAVE to select it in Nero before you
do the above. It will still let u add MP3's to a DVD and also
still shows the 4.5 gb limit for DVD.

In Nero under CD, if you're not going to burn MP3's, as is
but the other options, its CD/Audio CD.

BUT it looks like if u use Nero even for DVD/Audio CD, it only gives
u 700 mb (This isnt burning MP3 as is tho).

BUT if you run Nero Express and select Music/MP3 Disc, and select the
DVD then it'll let u add upto 4.5GB of MP3s to DVD.
