that is a photo of 5 rack mount servers.

each server is a twin CPU P4 3.6 with HT.
1.5GB or RAM.
and 2 X 36GB hard drives and 4 X 72GB hard drives.

that makes for (10*36) + (20*72) = 1800GB of disk.

what can we store in that kind of space??

What are you implying, that 1800GB is enough for all this, ........workarounds and service packs maybe. But the fixes that would certainly take at least another 1800GB

287043 2004-11-03 01:09:00 Ok, so that doesn't need (or deserve) backup. :D Graham L (2)
287044 2004-11-03 01:15:00 How are you going to fit the additional livestock that always accompanies the 'bug' fixes onto a mere 1800GB, eh? Better toss in another 1800 for that and add another 1GB somewhere for Linux to manage it all.

287045 2004-11-03 01:28:00 The computer dealer i buy my parts from has 10x250gb Maxtor drives setup in his server. If you count all the harddrives in the various machines he has in his shop he'd probably have close to 5Tb of storage. Pete O'Neil (250)
