2004-11-04 06:06:00 | I recently found this website with Spybouncer (www.spybouncer.com) and it seems to pick up a few more bits of spyware/slyware/adware than the usual products such as Ad-Aware & Spybot etc. Has anyone had any experience with this product or have any thoughts? Thanks, Andrew.

2004-11-04 08:49:00 | Thanks for that - I read this thread (spywarewarrior.com) in the spyware warrior forum which lambasts them for their advertising and marketing but not the actual product. Quote from Eric : "SpyBouncer will remain on the Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware list as long as this kind of advertising for your product exists". So I started to think that they were being unfairly targetted until I found this thread (spywarewarrior.com) and all I can say is "Oh Dear!". Thanks, Andrew.

2004-11-04 09:05:00 | If you want to buy a sweeper to go with the free ones you already have consider Spysweeper from Webroot It has a few useful features not found in others & always seems to find orphans not cleaned up by adaware & spybot. It also has regular online updates

2004-11-04 09:45:00 | Hi 45South I've got Spybot and AdAware, and was thinking of replacing AdAware as every time I run it , it boots out my XPTheme icon replacements I've got which are part of a 3rd party XPTheme . By using Neowin's UXTheme Multipatcher I can now use lots of alternative themes and they work really well - until I use Adware . It only seems to affect the icons, not the main part of the theme . [Windows XP1 SP1 on my machine] Would Spysweeper be a good replacement for AdAware? Marg .

2004-11-04 09:49:00 | Can you not setup AdAware to ignore those files I'm sure there will be an ignore option somewhere. I don't use it myself so I can't really help but someone will be able to I'm sure. IMO Spysweeper is one of the best, but I'd also keep Spybot

2004-11-04 10:04:00 | Thanks for replying so soon 45South, Will keep Spybot as it's not the one booting my icons. Just went to Download dot com to read reviews. Is it free or just a free trial? Will definitely try it out though before I give AdAware away. Marg.
