2004-11-06 02:07:00 | I made a minute long low resolution video clip with a cheap 70bucks digi/web cam. The file format is avi and the file size is 300b!! what program can I use to compress it? Low res 1 minute res movies should only be 5mb the max..... | JimboJones (1680) | |
2004-11-06 02:56:00 | I would suggest you look into the Theora video codec :-) Best compression Ive ever seen!

2004-11-06 07:34:00 | The site is a bit confusing to use.... I downloaded ffmpeg2theora-0.11 I hope thats the right one. | JimboJones (1680) | |
2004-11-06 07:41:00 | i assume the file size is 300MB not 300b ??? if its an avi then check what codec you have used. most likly its already highly compressed.

2004-11-06 07:50:00 | nope... ffmpeg2theora-0.11 just opend MSDOS then closed. Can you give me direct link to the codec converter? Yeah tweak'e, its 300MB. I dout its highly compressed because: *Video size is 640x480 *Length is 1mins 16secs *Bitrate is 49205kbs *And no sound *And actual file size is 456mb... (dam my poor rounding)

2004-11-06 08:07:00 | check what codec its done in. i have heard of a fault in some setups which blows out the file size by huge amounts. as far as tools goes try http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ and divx or xvid for the encoding codec.

2004-11-06 08:20:00 | Bitrate should be more like 1000kbps. A movie at 640x272 at 788kbps and 25 fps goes great. However, try using Windows Movie Maker. A one minute clip should be around 3MB in WMV format. George

2004-11-06 09:42:00 | I got virtualdub. How do I use it? I don't think I got moviemaker... I don't like MS formats anyways.

2004-11-07 02:38:00 | I right clicked on my movie to see the properties. And it says no compression...... I opened up Virtualdub and went to video/compressing, changed the bitrate and click ok... nothing happened... how do I compress? | JimboJones (1680) | |
