288461 2004-11-06 01:37:00 Hi Experts
I am using Laser 4x DVD-R's (A20 dye) with my LiteOn 832s burner. They burn great, both as DVD ROM and Movie "Backups", and read/play no problem on the burner.
I cannot get them to read on any other DVD ROM drive I try, including my new BTC which is speced to read DVD-R.
Is the A20 dye a problem.... anybody....?

288462 2004-11-06 02:00:00 What program are you using to play the DVD's with?? Spacemannz (808)
288463 2004-11-06 02:03:00 You might have to try a few different brands of disk, until you fnd one which works with all the drives you use. I'm sure they try to make everything work together. ;-)But maybe the beancounters found a source for cheaper dye. Graham L (2)

288465 2004-11-06 02:57:00 Ive found those Laser disc's of poor quality.

I love my Princo's. Get them from supercheappc.biz for a great price. I just picked up 50 this morning :-)

288466 2004-11-06 02:58:00 By the way - Try updating your drives firmware - Almost always helps with DVD Drives!

Risky if you get the wrong firmware - But totally worth it!

288470 2004-11-08 03:41:00 Thanks Guys, will certainly look at other brands. Turns out these discs read fine on a new $100.00 Dick Smith DVD player, so not sure what the problem is.
