| 288365 | 2004-11-06 21:45:00 | PICASSA: Hi 45South I have Picassa on my computer and have noticed something quite annoying with it. If I modify a pic <say crop> and save it to another folder, if I delete the original, the modified one disappears as well. Is there any way around this ~ so I can keep the modified one? Having said that, Picassa is a very very fine piece of software |

| 288366 | 2004-11-07 01:24:00 | I think the problem is to get the camera hardware recognised, rather than improving the software.;-) The toolbar "USB disk-drive" is almost certainly the Sony software seeing the camera body. The non-appearance in the My Computer page makes me wonder about the memory card. If Windows doesn't show it, either it's missing, or perhaps has managed to get "unformatted".:_| Can you view your pictures on the camera? (It might have some memory independent of the removable card, so you could have pictures without a card, and that won't show in My Computer). Many camera shops can read the memory cards, almost any computer shop can, even some Warehouse shops have machines. Try the camera in another computer (any Windows after ME will pick up a USB removeable drive without any special software). |

| 288367 | 2004-11-07 03:33:00 | Thanks Graham L My Camera does not any independant memory, only the memory stick (Sony Cybershot DSCP92). Pics can still be viewed in the camera, and I have no problems in getting the pics put onto a cd. I am begining to suspect a fault with the camera as I have been able to download and insall Picasa, but have the same problem with the camera not being recognised as a device on the import function, and not showing in My Computer. Even tried re-installing the usb driver software that came with the camera. I see a trip to the retailer coming up. I will follow up on your suggestion to try in another computer. Earnie. |

| 288368 | 2006-11-30 04:15:00 | The image transfer function for my Sony Cybershot 92 has ceased to work. Was ok last time I used it. Have tried un-installing and re-installing the image transfer software but no joy. Upon plugging in camera, all is normal on camera's lcd display, and shows as a usb device connection on the bottom right toolbar. This used to start and transfer images automaticaly, but nothing happens. I tried opening the image transfer manually, but nothing shows in the window for the copy scource. In settings, everything looks normal. Can anyone help. Have tried a search on this topic, came up as no result. Thanks Earnie. I have the same problem with the same Cybershot 92!! My problem is compounded because my USB connection does not recognize any hardware that is plugged into it. I have attempted to plug into the USB port an external hard drive and also tried a flash drive. The computer recognizes that something is connected, but it does nor respond to the device. When a device is plugged in, I also find that the Explore in My Computer does not recognize the device. A friend has also found that the USB port on his computer does not recognize any device that he plugs in. I have contacted microsoft, but have not gotton any results. They only keep asking me for information about my system, but no solution to the problem. I wonder if one of microsoft updates deactivated the USB working? I would be interested to know if you solved the problem. Thanx Marty |
