289177 2004-11-07 23:44:00 I read at Nz herald that Telstra clear will be launching a mobile network acting as a reseller of vodafone.

Hmm not quite sure what it means by *acting as a resesller*

289179 2004-11-07 23:50:00 They already do it and have done for some time.

They are the 029 network (which is just another part of Vodafone)

Did you actually read that article?

That article states that they have been reselling Vodafone for some time. Which is basically they bill you for TelstraClear branded Vodafone services, which they then buy from Vodafone.

The article says they are looking at now putting in their own mobile infrastructure so there will be 3 separate mobile phone networks in New Zealand.

289182 2004-11-08 02:44:00 029 is Telecoms, promoted as Boost. Aswell as 025 and 027.

Vodafone is only 021.

:D

How about no.

029 is an operational Vodafone GSM service.

289184 2004-11-08 02:57:00 blunt but to the point. WTAFO is correct.

029 has been round for some time now, aimed more at businesses rather than individual users if im correct.

Boost is part of telecom, it replaced pulsate (the youth orientated part of telecom). furthermore 025 is being phased out now, making way for telecom soley providing 027, hence the resent trade in deals and lower cell phone prices.

289185 2008-09-10 01:47:00 I am thinking about swapping from Vodafone to TelstraClear cos we are with them already for home and internet, and the TC cell deal is better than the one we are on with VF. The only thing that is putting me off is the fact that TC are on the Telecom CDMA network, which means that their "free cellphone" will become redundant in due course.

Does anyone know when the Telecom network switches over to GSM?
