289082 2004-11-07 21:45:00 Hi everyone who has contributed to my quest i e to remove "adware.CDT" found by Nortons but not deleteable even by sevaral programs recommended and by switching off Systems Restore and re booting- with no success.
I have found the answer- or rather the cure !
:-)
I did a specific search on Google- namely "adware attached to program" and downloaded "complete Cleanup Trial" from this address www.softdd.com/spyguard/antispyware.html
It took about three minutes - ran it and bingo all systems, including this problem now cleared- and I gained several M B of h/d space to boot
the trial is free, but to buy is U S $29.90 so it is not cheap- but it sure works!
To say I am elated is an understatement
:-)
Thank you to all who helped- and have a look at the program- it might fill a lot of problem areas.

289084 2004-11-08 01:10:00 Hi Tommy,
No it does not!! - sorry, but as I posted in the original string now over 20 posts- I have ccleaner- as well as spybot, ad aware, reg cleaner, spyware blasterand reg seeker- all updated at least once a week and because of the debacle I was having --twice a week for each and every program.

None, was able to find what Norton's A V found everytime- at about file level # 800 out of 49598, total- up came this "get[1]htm,adware.CDT"
I am not joking - none could find where and what had the file attached to it -- everytime coming up "nil found!!.

I, as Jen c suggested went and switched off "systems restore" and rebooted---ran the scan and there it was, again!

In the end, I Google searched for what Godfather suggested, that it was attached to a program---and entered "adware attached to program" and came up with this, "complete Cleanup" trial !

It regained space and the list shows several duplicated files,i e [1] which means it is at least the second file of the sort
