288904 2004-11-18 20:42:00 I simply can’t put my finger on this problem but for what it’s worth here’s the update.

Now, I know a lot of you will cringe at such an action, but frustration and desperation pushed me to the edge, so I pulled the whole HDD out of the computer that couldn’t read the data on the camera and just fitted to the other Win98se computer that could read the data.

Yes I know you can’t do that because of a completely different motherboard, chipset, bios, etc.

However, Windoze was abruptly awakened and found generic drivers so we had lift off. OK, we only had 16 colours and probably no Audio but I plugged in the camera and blow me down no problem. The pictures on the camera were there for all to see!

There has just got to be a motherboard conflict whereby the Chipset / CPU cant read the data in a form it can interpret.

I’ve been following david.castle’s post “Mass Storage Device” and there seems to be a fair bit in common. Especially the fact that neither of us can explain the problem. :D
