289070 2004-11-07 20:46:00 For no apparent resaon my home PC running Windows XP no longer responds to shortcut key combinations like windows-m or windows-e.

I checked for viruses and spyware etc but the system is clean.

289072 2004-11-07 21:56:00 Thanks johnboy, but neither link is useful. Both windows-m and windows-e have been availbe for years in Windows, at least from Win98. Windows-m shrinks all windows to the task bar while windows-e open Windoes explorer. So they're both able to be used from within other windows. the other link refers to links set up by the user.

BTW I have PS2 installed.

289073 2004-11-07 22:02:00 Perhaps your windows key is broken?

Does it bring up the start menu when pressed?

I would start by looking into regional settings, keyboard settings,whatever.....

289074 2004-11-08 04:21:00 Windows key works OK on its' own. Nothing obvious anywhere in control panel. POTUS (5276)
289075 2004-11-08 06:56:00 Do you have TweakUI installed? If you open TweakUI for WinXP there is an option to "enable Windows+X hotkeys" under Explorer settings. Tristan Speak (465)
