| 288777 | 2004-11-07 02:36:00 | Sorry for the newbie question but how do you monitor the temps of a SATA drive? I've just bought a new Western Digital Raptor 36Gb and SMART is enabled in the BIOS but Everest Home Edition doesn't have anything showing under the sensors. Any other programs that can monitor the temps? The SATA controller is on the motherboard. Thanks :) |

| 288779 | 2004-11-07 03:07:00 | I dont think u can as it isnt wired to anything that can take the temp. I use a SATA here but dont have anything to monitor it either. Or u cld try / email the maker of the SATA themselves. |

Yeah but it's very similiar to an IDE drive and it uses SMART so it must have some self monitoring technology on it which would send the information down the SATA cable into the motherboard. MBM might be able to do it, but no idea what options to configure. |
