| 289850 | 2004-11-09 22:08:00 | Hi, my laptop has inbuilt lan and modem. lan is fine, the modem is fried right? what happen is it says error 680 no dial tone. and when u pick the handset up as its trying to connect, it goes "tig tig tig .. ..." forever until you pull the line off the laptop. via control panel the modem is queried ok fine. i tried the laptop modem via a diff phone jack and thus a diff telephone cable too. nothing .. maybe its time to get a new one like pcmcia? fast internet is beyond my reach at the mo vs my needs ... :( modem was only replaced last yr. its funny cos if you seem to move the latpop the modem bumps up .. fixed i been doing is take out and put back in and/or after a few reboots if not then after a day or at most a few days it comes back working again .. but not this time. been dead for a week (counting ..). Nomad. |
