289480 2004-11-08 20:27:00 I'm wondering if a business advertises a product at a special price on their website, are they legally bound to provide it at the advertised price? Greg S (201)
289481 2004-11-08 20:34:00 I would say yup .

It should say from when to when .

And if u get in before the special finishes you're entitled to get whatever for that price . If the business says they forgot to change the prices on site, thats their prob .

289482 2004-11-08 20:43:00 Well this should be fun, coz they've screwed up big time and I'd say no way will they let it go without a dispute in court Greg S (201)
289483 2004-11-08 20:47:00 I'm pretty sure one of the legal experts here said that either party can pull out of a sale at any time, refuse a sale, and adjust the price before the transaction has been .....um.....actioned...

I do believe what they not allowed to do is supply the item and then bill you for a higher cost.

289484 2004-11-08 20:47:00 Most website will have a disclaimer on their site saying they are not liable for any errors on their site. Some shops will advertise an incredible deal on their site to lure you in and then say it was an error, unless you can prove it was intentional theres nothing you can do. Pete O'Neil (250)
289485 2004-11-08 20:48:00 Well yup if i looked online and saw a special on a site, I would expect to get it at that price on that site . And would even go as far as printing the page on the site out to prove to the shop that it was a special at the time .

Then how can they dispute / refuse to give u whatever at the reduced price??

They wouldnt be able to argue this in court, since u would have evidence, if u printed it out beforehand .

289487 2004-11-08 20:51:00 I've caught DSE out on this very thing on several occasions, to their credit they have always given it to me at the lower price. 45South (4769)
289488 2004-11-08 20:57:00 Same here. I went to DSE once. The thing was only about $13 online but the price instore was $17-18. I argued to the guy instore for 5 mins about it lol, that it said $13 online.

Later the manager of DSE came along and agreed with me, and gave me the thing for the lower price.

289489 2004-11-08 21:04:00 Well it's going to be interesting . I've copied every page of the online order process that I went through, completed the order, paid for it via online banking, and received confirmation of the order .

Their Terms and conditions page is incomplete - nothing in it at all, nor are there any disclaimers .

Now here's the hilarious part . . . the item is $1500 worth, at the incredible price of - (yes that's minus) 5 cents . Part of the order process showed an amount owing of . 95 cents, so to be generous to them that's what I paid!

Whatch this space! :^O
