| 289587 | 2004-11-09 02:09:00 | You guys need to remember that there always two sides to every story. The people who you feel are abusive and sarcastic do so because of the way you treat them. You may not be flat out abusive but you make snide remarks, and treat people as if your better than them. Granted there are posters who repeatedly abuse users but they are delt to buy the appropriate authorities. Perhaps before you start threads asking people not to leave and bad mouthing those with differing opionion you take a look at yourselfs. Starting threads such as these only gives people a place to be abusive and sarcastic. There are several parts to Somebodies and POTUS's post's that could easily be offensive to those on the other side of the fence. You prance around claiming the moral high ground, but really your no better than WTF, just with a less direct manner. People leave and people join forums its a fact of life, for every person that leaves they'll be another person who joins, they might not have as many posts to there name but they have knowledge to share none the less. Stu's goodbye post was mearly an attention seeking exercise and an attempt to inflame and already touchy subject. He's very easily offended and causes just as many problems as WTF, just in a less dramatic manner. He makes mountains out of mole hills, if he chooses to leave then thats his choice. The sooner people like you POTUS realise your part of the problem and stop blaming others the sooner the problems will go away. |

Heated discussion, arguments, the odd off comment, bottom lip hangers and hissy fits, can all be tolerated for what they are. The current persistent attacks and inane justifications for them should not be tolerated by anybody. |

The childish attitude of some in this forum has existed for a good two years or so. What makes you think that it'll just go away on its' own now? This particular topic was started to address / lament the loss of a member of the forum due to what can only be described as bullying. I merely agreed with the lamentation and added my view of it. I hate to see the bullies of this world win, and I'll stand up for anybody who is oppressed in such a way. To continue my school yard analogy: people who stand back and watch the bullies beat up the smaller kids, like you're doing, are just as bad as the bullies themselves. Let's all try to live in harmony together, I'd hate to see a valuble resource like PF1 disappear. |

I have simply stated my observations, and as you have correctly said, there are 2 sides to every story - I am telling my side, someone else is more than welcome to tell the other side . You have been around here longer than I have, and I'm sure you would agree that the amount of abuse which is thrown here around has increased a lot since a year ago . I do not claim to be better than anyone else, because I know that there are a lot of other people both on this forum, and in the real world who know a lot more than I do, are a lot more experienced, and who are good, decent people . Yes, lots of people have left, and lots of people have joined, and yes, they all have a lot of knowledge to share . All I was trying to get across was that the environment here is now much more tense, easily becomes abusive, and that it's unfair for good people to have to leave . |

Both sides are as bad as each other, those that bully and those that moan and whinge about the bullying. Those that bully should be punished but those that whinge and moan should just shut up, creating posts like this just continue the arguement. Whinging and moaning wont stop the bullys, Capt.
