289899 2004-11-10 01:04:00 I have WinXP with Serv Pack2 on it, my USB ports are not working, when I try and go into device manager nothing is displayed. The machine is not frozen as I can do other things it just that device manager will not display any hardware.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

289901 2004-11-10 01:21:00 If you are using xp Try this Goto START>RUN and type sfc /scannow there is a space after sfc you will need your WinXP CD in order to fix the corrupted or missing windows system files, if found by the scan.
Can you do a system restore??.

Then go to restore the device manager opposite 107. Download it and run it.

289908 2004-11-13 01:45:00 Cheers for your help but I found out what was wrong, someone had disabled the Plug n Play settings in Admin tools. Changed it to Auto then rebooted and everything came back.
Thanks for the input
