289546 2004-11-08 22:59:00 I'm adding a couple of extra drives and thought of upgrading my 350 W PSU - is this a good brand? It seems very good value (based on my supplier's huge price-drop) at 93 bucks inclusive.

[Thermaltake] SILENT PUREPOWER SERIES TT-420AD W0009RAC

Thx

289547 2004-11-08 23:01:00 is vey good brand - good reputation and good products. They are well establised so you should have no problems ApeNz (4220)
289548 2004-11-08 23:16:00 What is your existing 350W PSU? The 420W TT is nothing special. TT is a brand that exists by heavy marketing. There are 350W (Enermax) that may already be better. PaulD (232)

Existing is some sort of generic thing that came with my Olympic (iCute clone) case.

289550 2004-11-08 23:26:00 Thermaltake PSU's are alright, not the worst brand on the market but far from the best. I agree with Paul, a Enermex PSU would be a far better purchase.

I disagree, while there PSU's maybe alright the rest of their products are crap. Their cases are tinny, poorly constructed with lots of gimicky plastic and cheap lights. Their HSF offer poor performance and usually exceed maximum weight reckonmendations, and often very noisey.
