A lot of updates automatically installed when I started my new computer. KB2929437 failed, code error 80073712. I get a message to install it ever time I start the computer and it tries to install when I shut down. Looking through all the updates I can see a similar type of update but it's for IE9 (KB2936068) which installed ok but I have IE11? I ran the Windows Update Diagnostic but it couldn't resolve the problem. I rarely use IE, do I need the update and if not how can I stop it trying to install. thanks |

You may have to do this (support.microsoft.com). Download it manually see if it installs |

Thanks Speedy. i tried the System Update Readiness Tool but it stalled on 'Installing Hotfix for Windows KB 947821'?? so I'm way of of my depth and scared of messing up. Would you have a look via TeamViewer when you have time. |

Bloody cbs corruption. Had to do an inplace / in windows upgrade. To fix it. Since nothing else worked. It wiped the updates but left installed programs intact. Just had to reinstall all the updates again. And this update finally installed
No worries BB :) |
