1356121 2013-10-16 05:14:00 Just wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to laser or inkjet print onto sticky back white film ... like many signs are done professionally ... must be waterproof ! Not sure whether they use laser or inkjet and I've been a quote for 200 4x6 "numbers" from a sign-writer and bloody near fell off me barstool ...

Thanks in advance

1356122 2013-10-16 05:39:00 If it needs to be waterproof, then it will need to be done on vinyl. Toner doesn't adhere well to vinyl. We use inkjet with UV inks. Although other inkjet technologies work as well like latex. These are usually done on wide format machines.
Have a look at this place http://labelsplus.co.nz
If the above people can't help PM me

1356123 2013-10-16 05:43:00 Thanks plod .... I'll have a look at it but maybe we'll have to suck it in and pay to get a professional to do it. Just away to a meeting so it'll be tomorrow before I can get a chance to sit and read ! SP8's (9836)

1356125 2013-10-16 06:58:00 You can get printable self-adhesive films or coated paper. Suggest you go into Warehouse Stationery if you have one nearby - else check online at their site and DSE's. Greg (193)

Has to be waterproof Greg. Paper, self adhesive labels are not.

Paper, self adhesive labels are not.Plod, honestly some 3M (or whatever brand they're called now) have/had self-adhesive printable material for a years which have been 'weather resistant', ie suited for outdoor use. Sellotape too. And sadly I've currently got a small sign on my letterbox.. "No advertising material" temporarily on my letterbox (until I get to the hardware store) which I printed by inkjet on generic photo paper, and its lasted fine for at least 3 weeks now. Greg (193)
1356128 2013-10-16 10:20:00 Well I dear say it's probably vinyl then. And there is a difference between resistance and proof. Not saying you are wrong, but I deal with this stuff on a commercial basis daily. And this is why I asked what the intended purpose is for plod (107)
