New ones are all gesture based Pretty sure all mac mice have had right click since the g5 imac (early 2000s). It's normally disabled by default/right mouse button is set to primary click. |

Correct, I was talking about the hockey puck mouse where body got the idea there was no right click. predates the g5, g4 |

| 1356528 | 2013-10-19 09:30:00 | Windows 9 may fix things up a bit, but only if all traces of 8 are well wrapped and burnt under the butt of the responsible CEO. Just the MS policy of producing total fiascos every second release to make their mediocre other releases look great. ;) | R2x1 (4628) | ||
| 1356529 | 2013-10-19 09:39:00 | So basically anything older than Windows 8 ;) I see Microsoft stopped recommending MSE/Defender the other day. Hope they don't give up on it. I enjoy the fact it isn't in my face every 5 seconds. Correct, I was talking about the hockey puck mouse where body got the idea there was no right click. predates the g5, g4 Oh those things. Bit of a stretch to call them a mouse :p |

Finally a default way to shut down without digging into the settings menu. Charms - settings - power - shutdown, what Idiot decided to hide such a basic function in such an awkward place. (yes I'm aware you can push the power button, my PC is under the desk and has a side button which is black on black, easier to do it from the desktop). I do like the other changes I've noticed so far though, notably more options for tiles and the arrow to take you straight to all apps. What I think they need though is a global option for tile preference so I can set them all small and just enlarge the ones I want rather than having to do them all 1 by 1. I've set mine to boot to desktop and shrunk most of my tiles to the smallest size, grouped them into useful groups and named them, and set the background to use the desktop pic. It makes the start screen feel much more like it's just an overaly of shortcuts which to be fair is all it ever was. I've gotten used to 8 now, not hating it any more. In fact for me it's much like using 7 now just with a more graphical start menu and the option to use the new apps if I want to. I've pinned a lot of stuff hidden away in the charms menu or from all apps onto the start screen now so I don't have to use much else very often. My only remaining gripe is the swipe down to close apps gesture, for those without touchscreens it's not as convenient as the old close button and I think desktop users should have the option to revert to a button if desired. |
