1374113	2014-05-04 08:43:00	Hopefully this dropbox shared link works .. www.dropbox.com 2 HDDs inside machine. 1x was bought 5yrs ago. 1x was replaced just last year under warranty. As they are bought 5yrs ago, no warranty. What do you think is the condition of the HDD? It makes those sounds after the computer's been sitting here for 15minutes. Not running any application other than behind the scene ones ... They're backed up, so no worries there. They're both Seagates. The older one is the one with the dodgy firmware but it's been updated. The other is a different model replaced due to the dodgy firmware disabled the drive. I've also had a WD which after 2yrs was returned and again a year after the replacement, so I sold the 3rd one when delivered to me.	Nomad (952)

1374115	2014-05-04 11:00:00	Thanks. Seatools picks up nothing with the short tests. With that link you have me WT. It is the older drive there with the SD1A firmware. It says "Health Status - Caution" in yellow. In the table it says yellow dot with - reallocated sectors count. 100 (current) 100 (worst) threshold 36. The transfer mode is also SATA 150. That's a SATA II drive. The other internal drive (replaced last yr under warranty) - transferring at 300 | 600.	Nomad (952)
1374116	2014-05-07 20:46:00	Even within the same manufacturer lines, some hard drives are noisier than others. Even changing the orientation of some HDD can change it's noise. I've tried using rubber isolation brackets on some drives, but these are of limited use. If you don't like the HDD drive noise, I'd buy a new one after looking at this link www.silentpcreview.com	kingdragonfly (309)
