2013-10-30 18:28:00 | How do I get pics from USB drive onto Nexus 7. Thanks lads.

2013-10-30 18:56:00 | just did similar with my lenovo Android tablet. All I did was simply plug the nexus into a USB port on the Computer, then open the folders like any other external drive, open the USB drive thats also plugged in, then copy/paste to the appropriate folders. Just transferred (on Monday) over 100 ebooks, couple of movies and lots of music from the PC to the tablet. At the end of the day, even though theres a lot of fuss over a nexus, its still only a Android tablet.

2013-10-30 19:06:00 | Yeah plug it in, copy / paste. Done. Can go in any folder, though I'd suggest "Pictures" is most logical for finding them later to add / remove them

2013-10-30 21:20:00 | Yeah pretty much the only way is Via a PC as already stated. I did try a mini USB- full size USB adapter to see if my Nexus 7 could read the drives directly, it can't. (well unless you want to go the rooting/ custom firmware route). The same adapter does work perfectly for my S3 though, it reads flash drives just fine with it. Even transferring files between my phone and my tablet the easiest way by far is to use a PC, every other method is slow and cumbersome by comparison. The Nexus is great, but there are some features that it doesn't have that some people would like. My Transformer tablet for example has a fulll size USB host port and a full size SD card reader on the keyboard dock and can read directly from flash drives, cameras, portable hard drives, etc, making it much more useful as a companion to my camera than my nexus is.

2013-10-31 05:49:00 | Having read the above, I plugged in my Nexus 7 into computer, then did the same with USB drive with pics on, Opened usb pics, copied and pasted in a folder called pictures in Nexus 7. I the assumed I would be able to open in Nexus 7 but can't find any icon on Nexus screen, not in G+ photos. Where did I go wrong?

2013-10-31 06:35:00 | Have a read of these step by step instructions. how-to-transfer-files-to-your-nexus-7 (www.dummies.com) I the assumed I would be able to open in Nexus 7 but can't find any icon on Nexus screen, not in G+ photos. Nothing is done on the Actual Nexus, its all done on your computer. Silly as this my sound, make sure the Nexus is turned on --- Dont laugh, seen it happen. Side Thought: On some computers the front USB ports dont have enough "grunt" to open external Drives, if the Nexus is not opening or showing and you are using front ports, try the rear ports. Off Topic Kind of, side note: On my Android phone when you plug in the USB cable a message pops up on the screen and you have to select USB connection ( or something like that) The Tablet didn't that just opened as per the above link.

2013-10-31 07:00:00 | I wonder Wai, if we could find the pics that I have got onto the Nexus 7. I know they are there by going to computer and looking into the Nexus 7 icon. Now I would like to open on Nexus 7, but there is nothing that I can see that will find them?

2013-10-31 07:38:00 | I don't have a Nexus7, nor have I even seen one, but if it has an internal search capability then rename one of the pictures to an easily recognizable name ie "wxyz.jpg" or "zqwerty.jpg", without the " ", then search for it, this will reveal the location of the rest. Q.E.D.

2013-10-31 07:42:00 | What folder did you put the pictures into? Navigate using the gallery to where you put them. If in the Pictures folder, as long as it reads the format they are in they should show up. Any files you’ve copied are now stored on the Nexus 7. What you do with them next depends on the reasons you copied the files: to view pictures, use the Gallery, import vCards, use the Contacts app, listen to music, or use the Music app, for example. According to giggle it will see: 5280

2013-10-31 10:16:00 | Either the gallery app should find them or the file manager will - think my nexus came with es file manager by default, does the job. If all else fails try rebooting the nexus, sometimes it triggers a rescan of the storage and things magically show up.
