| 290555 | 2004-11-11 06:51:00 | I go to two elderly people to help them with their computers. Their specs. state they have 128MB RAM, but when I run Aidia the amount of RAM is shown as 119MB, which I my book does not compute. Can you explain this discrepancy please., | Pamela (6036) | ||
| 290556 | 2004-11-11 06:53:00 | They may have an 8mb videocard, which the system will use. That might be where the other 8-9 mb has gone. | Spacemannz (808) | ||

| 290558 | 2004-11-11 07:32:00 | I agree it might be the shared RAM for the video but have you checked the RAM by going into the BIOS? | andrew93 (249) | ||

| 290560 | 2004-11-11 08:39:00 | This is common. 1 MB commonly gets reserved for the system, and 8 MB for on board graphics. That makes 9 MB, 9 + 119 = 128 MB. There is nothing wrong or needing fixing. |
