2004-11-11 21:50:00 | That was an issue with fedora that suse have also got... You'll be using Lilo as your bootloader and you wont have any issues at all related. Here's how you Dual-Boot: Install Windows Install Linux Done :-) Linux takes care of the lot :-) Chill.

2004-11-11 22:17:00 | Yes. By default it'll boot Yoper after 10 seconds, but that can be changed from within Yoper with little hassle :-)

During installation Yoper would of detected your existing Windows OS and added an entry for it. When you boot your machine, you will be presented with the Lilo bootmanager from which you can select which OS to load. You can set one of them to be default and what time in seconds you would like the default to be booted unless the other one is manually selected. To make it easy for your brother to use the machine, set XP as default with a 6 sec delay for example. Out of interest, the time units used by Lilo are 10th's of a sec, so 60 = 6 secs which is the default for Yoper. |

2004-11-12 00:19:00 | On the plus side - You could ask Jen/Murray really nicely to send you Knoppix-3.6 also.... You can use it to save your Windows if you happen to "accidentally" kill it when you're happy with Yoper ;-) | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
2004-11-12 03:16:00 | Got Knoppix 3.4, was thinking of sending it anyway. What about Insert 1.2.15, have rescued win files with Mepis as well. A livey to get the feel can help to ease a few pangs. Jen, you have mail :) Murray P

2004-11-12 03:28:00 | Using an installed distro is all very well and good until you kill your bootloader ;-) Insert is good, but not as common as Knoppix. Knoppix _does_ have gpart which has saved my life on more than one occasion :-)
