This country is also the home of the tall poppy sindrome. The only gain the local economy gets from dell is a small ammount of gst, and a small number of locll subcontracting service personell. People should consider this before buying dell, new. Dell are also 5 year throwaways, the sheep like to keep their gear longer than that. D. |

| 290455 | 2004-11-11 06:11:00 | Plus it needs to be taken into account that i work on computers daily, and know the ins and outs of near all the hardware, brands, prices, performance. No wonder my qualified views based on real worl experience were dismissed in the face of market share. |

I bought the system from Noel Leeming mega store in Wairau park, Takapuna . I have had no probs with the comp except for Nortons Internet security software, otherwise for me its a good pc, really good with multi-tasking etc . . and plays most of the latest games . dont hold back, call me an idiot if you like, but I really want your thoughts on this system, if Ive got a lemon then let me know so as not to do it again . thanks gary :D |

| 290458 | 2004-11-11 06:32:00 | PB Tech Auckland ----------- if they are half as good as pb Tech Hamilton will do not only a good deal but make one exactly to your specs. They are a largely Asian staffed company but I don't look at the nationality of who I deal with, I look at the customer service/ backup and price. All the staff do not speak perfect Queeen's English but they do in my opinion give close to perfect service which is the reason I have put approx $ 150, 000 through them over the last 3 years alone in business purchases, directing friends to them, spare parts and my own toys. Yes I have come across dodgy Asian suppliers but then again i have come across lots of dodgy european suppliers as well. I don't work for them Like Susan B said may your own is also a brilliant option, Cheaper more satisfying. |

| 290459 | 2004-11-11 06:36:00 | To throw in my bit, I have recently purchased a PC (J.D.I) it came with a H.P 3 in 1, when it went wrong after 8 weeks I phoned the H.P. help line, I got through to India and had a VERY frustrating time trying to comprehend was being said, to cut a loooong story short it took a total of 7 hrs on the phone, after which the 3 in 1 was replaced, but it still cost me the $24 courier fee, and 10 days total without the printer. (I had a spare printer, otherwise it would have been even worse) From that experience I'll not touch anything Hewlett Packard again. It may be worth thinking about if buying a known brand, their help line is really frustrating and pathetic. |

You don't mention price you paid or the monitor but If you paid more than 1500 you could have done better But no, your not an idiot and its not a lemon. |

Glad you are happy with your machine gtr676, but if you take a toaster back there, watch out for procrastination and evasion. I was laughing (inside) thinking what Metla would have to say about the half scorched, half untouched toast samples being faulty bread. It would have made my day. |
