| 290433 | 2004-11-11 03:53:00 | "metla says" ... :_| Some Dell computers are lower "quality" than other Dell models. They are made to suit market segments. I would say that some Dell models are higher quality than some made by local assemblers. They can buy components at lower unit prices than other assemblers, because they buy in much larger quantities. Dell didn't get to be a large company with a turnover comparable with the GDP of NZ by selling rubbish. They make products to suit the market. The market seems to think that their products are worth buying. |

| 290436 | 2004-11-11 04:27:00 | Pete...I'm not pushing Dell. I don't even know if I would buy one next time around. However, they have their good points and, if you live in Whangaparoa, support is one of them. And one other thought, Dell does not get to be the preferred choice of users who buy in 100's by turning out trash. |

It's a fact that a store like DSE or B&B or Harvey Normans are more likely to give better customer service than the local "fly by night" corner PC store. If you disagree, perhaps you could explain your reason - but laughing achieves nothing except create trouble. |
