2004-11-12 02:44:00 | Just reinstalled & still problems. I use 2 ISP's, and I have one set as default for mail - the other for internet - and this has worked with no problems for years. With AVG 7.0.289 installed, after sending a mail via default connection, it will then attempt to send via the other ISP. Also bounces them back to me. This occurs even with Email scan deactivated. Odd. Looks like I'll change to another prog come december. Bye

2004-11-12 02:53:00 | Peter, you could have a look at Avast (www.avast.com), another good free Anti-virus program. | Pheonix (280) | |

2004-11-12 04:07:00 | 1) The settings must use the plugin for the email client you use, or not use a plugin at all. 2) DO NOT set AVG to strip attachments. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Turn off "move password protected attachments........" 3) Ports 10110 and 10025 must be free for AVG mail scanning to work - it passes the mail through these ports. I have used this both with and without a proxy server, and found that AVG can also scan all email passing through the email proxy. I have had it working on both the local machine and the proxy, with both Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird 0.8. Bletch

2004-11-12 08:07:00 | Peter H, what if anything are you gaining using Paradise and Clear. Aren't they using the same equipment now that they are part of the Telstra empire? If you lose one the other is also just as likely to have gone as well. | PaulD (232) | |
2004-11-12 20:26:00 | Started out with Clear, and like to keep for my main Email address. Only cost is 5c per min - no fixed charge. Then to Zfree - then Paradise. I am sure they use different servers, as the odd time I can't connect on Paradise, always get thru on Clear. Bye
