| 290333 | 2004-11-11 00:52:00 | Hello = at the moment looking at a MFC210C model and just wondering if you can tell me the good bad or otherwise of this machine. It wouldnt be used alot other than for the odd print off a page or the odd scan of photos to send in emails. Any anwers appreciated. Thanks Bug :) Oh and have windows xp home |

| 290334 | 2004-11-11 02:11:00 | I have a previous model (MFC3820CN). My comments based on that are: Cheap for what you actually get Very average print quality. Needs "fine" (=slow) setting to get any acceptable quality, even using their cartridges and an inkjet paper. Average but useable scanning Excellent fax. OK as a "copier" for occasional use. Drinks ink, but at least they are separate cartridges. (3 x $20 colour and 1 x $30 black) = $90 per set. You need spares! It is not cheap to run, insists on doing regular "cleaning" cycles that seem to use a lot. As a printer its a poor cousin to most HP (and probably Canon) but useable. But - its very cheap, and is still reasonable value overall. |

Mine sits right beside my workstation,2 feet from my left ear........The frequent,loud and extended cleaning cycles are the most infuriating part of my entire day, So far verbal abuse,threats and violence have failed to have any effect,Yanking the cord from the wall stops it, but then my phone doesn't work... Otherwise its a jack of all trades,and master of none. |
