290297 2004-11-10 21:59:00 I have just realised a big big problem. I ordered a parcel from Australia a few weeks back. As it has not arrived yet, I decided to investigate. I have this very creepy feeling looking through all my emails that I have not supplied them with a physical address to post it to (this is quite a large parcel). I gave them a PO Box address earlier on to send the invoice to, however I don't think that parcels can be sent to PO Boxes. Somehow it never occured to me that I hadn't given them my physical post details.

So my question is: Is it possible for parcels to be sent to PO Boxes in NZ? If not, and since the parcel was sent last Wednesday, what will happen to it, and what can we do about it?

290298 2004-11-10 22:01:00 It shouldn't be a problem. Usually the post office will hold it for you and you get a coloured slip in your box telling you there is a parcel to collect from the counter. If you are getting worried then I suggest you talk to one of the staff at the counter of your PO - this way you can forewarn them. andrew93 (249)

Cheers

Seconded. And CourierPost also deliver to them as well. Only courier that does?

290302 2004-11-10 23:37:00 But the problem might be that the vendor uses an Australian/international courier company. But they should have told you if their courier won't deliver.

Have they sent the invoice? :-)

Thanks for your info guys - fingers crossed that it will arrive eventually.

290304 2004-11-11 03:20:00 Fax them for the track and trace #. all courier items have this.

You buy A PO Box for security of your mail, parcels/courier packages are part of your mail.

If you stop paying they can return to sender.

If you dont collect the parcel eventually, they will send you a letter, with an invioce for storage.

As long as you pay the storage, they must hold the parcel for you, as this is part of the service you have "Brought".

290305 2004-11-11 03:33:00 yes u can courier to po boxes. The post office nz should keep the item and leave a card on your po box requiring u to pick it up at the post office! yingxuan (3330)
290306 2004-11-11 03:37:00 thanks drb1. The company sent it via Australia Post, and they do not have a track-and-trace system (as it was Economy Parcel Post or something like that).

I forgot to mention earlier that this wasn't delivered to me, it was delivered to someone else who I order the parcel for. I have checked with them and they said that normally any parcels/post are delivered to their door via. courier each morning, as part of an arrangement they have with the local post office.

Fingers crossed that it was just the freight taking longer that expected.
