290250 2004-11-10 20:47:00 I have just bought a pc with windows 98 on it and I can't create any new documents, shortcuts or folders anyware in the operating system. What could have caused this and how can I alter windows to display the new menu when I right click? dunno? (6391)
290251 2004-11-10 20:54:00 Open windows explorer - hilite the drive - file - new folder. Should show in right hand pane.

290253 2004-11-10 20:58:00 It should apear in a drop down list,So presuming you have bought a secondhand PC that was delivered with issues i would sugest formatting it and starting with a clean slate....Or even a dirty install overtop of the exsisting OS

As long as you have a windows cd it should be straight foward,Back up your drivers with Driver Genius before doing any major work...

Seeing as no one has done anything but offer advice i fail to see what your on about,Perhaps you would be happier with no advice?,im sure that can be arranged.

290258 2004-11-11 03:12:00 metla sorry about that. Thanks for your help. It was only directed at Peter H who didn't think I could right click the mouse on the desktop. The problem is when I do that the new submenu does not appear and I thought I sent a clear post for help dunno? (6391)
