290200 2004-11-10 10:29:00 Hey :-)

i started googling for 'freeware'... actually found some sites which were nicer than some well known shareware sites in the first 2 pages... although maybe less range.

I just wanted to say

1]i found a kewl text editor:
Notepad++
notepad-plus.sourceforge.net

Things i consider essential for debugging server side code/Client side code:

Line Numbers

Things i consider essential for maintenance and deving:
Search and replace, preferably multi line and regular expressions compatible [not in this afaik, but nice]

What is other peoples experience?
Please paste, if possiible, only freeware tools, preferably with 66-100% of the above... although if its really kewl then i guess post as you will :-)

[Note: i actually have about 6-12 TXT editors, but some i dont use very often, and well Notepad++ is fairly funky looking]

290205 2004-11-10 23:39:00 I like AE. (Another Editor). It's a DOS one ... does lots of good things, including macros. Should still be found on Simtel. Graham L (2)
290206 2004-11-11 00:02:00 You'll all probably chase me away with pitch forks and stakes but i have to say that my favourite txt editior is Notepad. Probably because its already installed with windows so i dont have to go to the effort of downloading and installing an alternative. Pete O'Neil (250)
