| 290097 | 2004-11-10 09:00:00 | OK I heard the fat lady sing and I switched from IE, in this case to Opera which I quite like, but I cannot figure out how to view pages offline. If I go to history folder offline and click on the page I wish to reread I get the message "could not locate remote server". The second question is if I am in Opera offline and I wish to go online is the only way to get there is to close Opera and start again from the desktop? | tutaenui (1724) | ||
| 290098 | 2004-11-10 09:12:00 | It looks like Opera doesn't support offline viewing, but there is a way of doing this - see here (www.opera.com) | Jen C (20) | ||

| 290100 | 2004-11-10 09:56:00 | what you may find that if the page has an add or tracker it will request to go online. other than that the offline works fine. | tweak'e (174) | ||
| 290101 | 2004-11-10 20:53:00 | Thanks guys for the suggestions.I should add we are talking about Opera 7.54 here. Tony F I had found that toggle but only works for about 1% of the sites for the rest the message is "Offline mode is enabled cannot open....", so it looks like the suggestion of Tweak'e is correct. JenC Opera's server is down at the moment so I can't follow up on your link, but I suspect it is the reference in Help that I found which aysOpera does not support offline browsing and sugests the use of third party software. I guess I will have to download that and see. Offline viewing is an important feature for me as I am on dail up and if I cant get this to work it will be back to IE, or does Firefox support offline viewing? |
