291043 2004-11-12 12:49:00 Chill is referring to the software drivers that tell your video card how to do things.

In your case you should grab the latest ATI Catalyst drivers which you can download from the ATI.com website in the Drivers and Software area.

This may not be the problem but it would be a first step to take.

291044 2004-11-12 21:55:00 Grahics cards most certainly have the power to lock up a system, if they have outdated or incorrect drivers.

But, if it is not the graphics card, and it still locks up under stress (eg. playing THUG), it may be overheating or the ram may be faulty.

The reasons being, the game may use a lot of RAM, and go into the faulty area that Windows never needs to touch. Or, the game may be intensively using the CPU, causing it to overheat.

But, update the drivers first as they are both the most likely culprit, and the easiest to fix.
