| 290958 | 2004-11-12 08:06:00 | hey there, just wondering if any one owns the above laptop and what do they think about it. I am looking at buying a pentium m 1.5ghz, 512mb ram, 60gb hdd, 14.1' screen. 802.11g wireless almost brand new, but i am unsure about the graphics. It runs the Intel 82855 GME graphics chipset, but i have no idea what that will run. I only have old games like ghost recon, red alert, need for speed underground, etc. Will it run them ok? i am not looking at this interms of graphics specifically, i have just seen a very tempting price from a certain store in nz. | 290960 | 2004-11-12 08:45:00 | No. The best review i could find of it suggested it was good at playing DVD's, Not a good highpoint at all, Combined wirth that cpu i seriously doubt you could get a playable framerate even at the lowest settings. >>powered by the Intel Pentium M 715 (1.5 GHz), which isn't the most powerful Centrino available. Performance was just so-so, posting 15.1 on our Business Winstone and 18.1 on Multimedia Content Creation Winstone. Still, the dv1000 is more than suitable for tasks such as playing DVDs, browsing the Internet, and running basic business apps. As you can see this unit isn't designed to be a multimedia powerhouse. |
