290761 2004-11-11 20:58:00 1. I'm looking for a good, reliable and stable PSU with case for my P4 pc. Could someone recommend one for me?

2. Which retail shop in Auckland region has a good collection of good PSUs and cases?

3. In Intel's website, they talked about 'Thermally Advantaged' chasis. Is it really necessary to get this for Intel CPUs?

Cheers

290762 2004-11-11 21:05:00 http://www.edenonline.co.nz has a few.

I usually buy from them since theyre just down the road from me. I used to buy the case and get them to remove the p/s since most were only 300W. And get my own.

It depends on how much you want to spend I guess. I havent got a clue what thermally advantaged chassis means. These cases here, have 3 fans u can put in it ( 1 front, 2 back), and 2 USB in front, and neon light on the sides at the front. Just as long as I can put what I have in it, thats the main thing.

I use P4's here with these cases. They stay pretty cool most of the time.

290766 2004-11-12 05:38:00 For $250 grab a case that you reckon looks good and stick in a decent brand 350w+ PSU such as an Enermex or Antec. Pete O'Neil (250)
290767 2004-11-12 05:42:00 Also make sure that the case itself is reasonably solid and well built - ie. does not have sharp edges on the insides, and does not twist/bend easily.

I'm very happy with the case I have, however as they are no longer on the market I cannot really recommend them.
