| 291723 | 2004-11-14 06:08:00 | I recently installed XP2 on my year old Tablet PC running XP Pro. Since doing so I can no longer download software from the PC World CD (or any other mags CD). Autorun works fine and I use Maxthon as my browser (& ZoneAlarm Security Suite). But when I find software I want to try on the CD, I click on the "Click Here', absolutely nothing happens! So I tried to right click and use "Save target as" but I then get an error message that my 'security settings do not allow downloading'. I can access the programs by exploring the CD but what a nuisance! I've tried resetting all internet security options to LOW, tried IE6 ans Avant Browsers as well as Maxthon but without success. I also rebooted after each change. Please help!! |

| 291724 | 2004-11-14 06:11:00 | Hi and Welcome to PressF1 :) Avant and Maxthon both use IE's engines so whatever is causing the problem with IE will also affect the other two browsers. Are you doing this as a User or Admin (Poweruser)? |

| 291726 | 2004-11-14 06:15:00 | I would browse the CD through My Computer - Find where Firefox is (Or grab it from www.mozilla.org) and install it. Then load up Firefox and type: d:\index.html or it may be: d:\default.htm Its been a while since Ive used the CD - I normally give them away to windows-using friends. Welcome to PressF1! Cheers Chill. |

| 291729 | 2004-11-15 02:40:00 | Thanks Spacemannz, but this has not worked for me. Both items were already ticked. So I tried unticking them, applying, then ticking them both again to enable them, and applying - all to no avail. When I get more time I will try to re-install IE6 to see if that is where the problem lies. Thanks anyway. |
