291481 2004-11-13 23:55:00 I have been having a problem with spybot ever since I installed SP2.
Everytime I run spybot I get the same message. No other errors are ever found.

"Error during check.
Cabrotor (date1 C:\windows\win.ini.aic.....
DSO exploit 5 entries "

The five entries refer to 5 lines of the registry. They do not delete though they are ticked as deleted.

Someone told me this is a known fault, but I can find nothing about it.

Useing win xp home.

291482 2004-11-14 00:03:00 Ive never seen the first part of that error but the DSO exploit is a known prob with the earlier 1.3 version of Spybot.

You have to download the 1.3.1 TX version of Spybot and install it over the old 1.3 (if thats what youre using), to fix it.

www.spybot.info tells u about the bug in Spybot to do with DSO expolit.

291483 2004-11-14 00:03:00 You could delete the registry entries manually, using regedit or regcleaner (whatever), back up your registry first but, before that do a search of the net for the exploit + false positives and the registry settings and SP2 + Spybot.

291485 2004-11-14 00:14:00 That cabrotor error according to posts in google seem to say its a backdoor trojan. And some posts also say Spybot seems to be picking up backorifice for some reason.

There also seems to be a 1.3.2b version on some sites. BUT u cant d/l it!

Type this in google.

Error during check Cabrotor a lot of hits come up.

291486 2004-11-14 00:22:00 Oops foget the 1.3.2b version. Just read it got "leaked" and surfaced on some sites, and is buggy. DON'T use this, if u get it from other sites like Majorgeek or Betanews. Spacemannz (808)
