I have installed AVG 7 but have a problem with receiving emails. Haven't tried sending any so am not sure if it's affected too.
The email scanner box comes up at the bottom & it seems to get stuck on "connecting". Then another box says ÖE pop3 server not responding." Then it says there's not enough memory but I know there is. I have to do a restart to make it all go away.
Somewhere in the email part it had:
Account pop.clear.net.nz
Server pop.clear.net.nz
OS is ME.

My problem is solved. I had to make a change in the properties configuration as AVG was set on LAN & not dial up, so there was no need to make changes to Zonealarm.
