| 291393 | 2004-11-17 17:40:00 | Thankyou Chill! But i think i'll be right thanks. I downloaded knoppix-std last night from ftp://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/ , and i'm just about to burn it on to the CD. I'm hoping to finish downloading the 3 CD set of Mandrake this morning. Mandrake is something i've only heard good things about, and all going well i'll be trying that one out this evening. And then there's the 3 CD fedora from ihugs mirror Spot the big kid in the candy shop!!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) Chris |

Graham L--------------- The laptop came from Dick Smiths in Manchester Street! It's one of those $1,300 ECS jobbies they had recently with no operating system. I asked if they had any Linux distributions i could put on it, and the sales guy said no. There was however a live noppix disk still sitting in the CD drive. Such is life. Kame-------- Yeah, i'll use IHUGs mirror for redhat9, but i'll do that at work, seeing its for their server more than for me :-) Chris |

| 291397 | 2004-11-18 05:09:00 | Try searching DSE's site for "Mandrake 10", and click on the catalogue number for the extra information, and check at the bottom of the page for branches with stock. They've reduced it from $8.95, so not all branches will have disks. But there are four branches in Christchurch. ;-) | Graham L (2) | ||
| 291398 | 2004-11-18 05:17:00 | PS. All five Christchurch branches had them at 2 a.m. today, according to the web site. Catlalogue number XC4035. |

Still it's good to know that theres a place in the centre of CHCH that sells 'nix distros :-) Chris |
