| 291301 | 2005-03-23 07:34:00 | Macs Good Points - In theory they are of better quality and you do pay for that - Firewire standard - OS X is better than XP on most points - No viruses/exploits/spyware issues (yet) - Installing software is pretty damn easy - You can become a mac zealot - Yeah they are more stylish (although I don't care too much) - The software for OS X is mostly all there - Its different Bad Points - Yep they cost more (and a lot more for the recent models) - If you know stuff about a PC and windows it won't help you a lot, the OS is completely different - Apple mysteriously like to sell them with a base of 256 megs :angry - Non-standard parts still exist (but it is much, much better now in regards to hard drives and ram at least) - Don't even bother about games on OS X, they really aren't there and Apple only dishes out average video cards - People with macs end up having to know about cross-platform conversion etc. Although much better with OS X. It isn't difficult but with most PC users ignore macs.. - Some installers are just painfully slow with OS X - OS X still loves the old "spinning wheel of death" Then again you can run Linux on both ;) Damn this thread is old. |

| 291303 | 2005-03-24 08:14:00 | Come on... give him a break. He's only done 4 posts, and you criticize him for bringing up an old post. I believe that both computers have their advantages and disadvantages. It depends on the individual. Macs are supposedly great for Graphics or Video Editting, but you can always upgrade hardware in your PC to surpass the Mac. Which one do you like? Buy it if you can. |
