LOL "pick a fight"? You're being a bit melodramtic aren't you? As for unhelpful - your giving your weak and flawed opinion about Macs being less superior than PC's is what's unhelpful - misleading at best. Back to "pick a fight" - I haven't been on the mat for years and could always do with the challenge :D |

For your benefit, no - I wouldn't bother - facts are facts and whether or not I demonstrate them to you I suspect you'd still argue to the end of your days. So I'll just drop it. |

| 291295 | 2004-11-14 20:25:00 | Getting back to the main Topic, I have both Mac & PC , have not had the opportunity yet to try Linux . The original poster talked about kids using the computer, so I will add that I'll let the kids surf on the Mac but I'm NOT happy with them on the PC, it just takes far too long to get rid of all the rubbish they manage to click on & download . The Mac is 100% safer online and one only has to drag & drop any downloaded rubbish in the trash . :-) |

| 291296 | 2004-11-15 22:30:00 | Regardless of anything else, to be free of all the spyware, dialers, viruses and the various other exploits windows users are subjected to is reason enough to use a Mac . Especially for young people or those not experienced with the internet who have no idea of the type of things that can be installed on their computer without their knowledge that can compromise their security or safe browsing . Tips, troubleshooting, advice, and opinion from Macworld Contributing Editor Christopher Breen . . macworld . com/weblogs/mac911/" target="_blank">www . macworld . com Windows users are routinely plagued by programs and exploits that perform such unsavory stunts as hijacking a web browser to an undesired site, stealing passwords, capturing keystrokes and screen shots, and blasting ads across the PCs screen, instant messaging client, and web browser . These cooties are often contained within innocent-looking programs that are downloaded from the Web . Currently Mac users arent subject to these exploits as theyre Windows-only applications . That doesnt mean such vileware wont eventually appear on the Mac, only that its currently not a problem . |

Design studios turning out advertising garbage, junk mail, anything with lots of graphics and sidebars etc. Great. But real designers ie designing machinery, equipment, layouts, factories, boats, aircraft, tools, etc will prefer Windows. From Autocad to DCWIN there is a huge range of drafting programs to suit all pockets - and they are funtional. I did try MACs to see if they were OK and found it very easy to produce an impressive drawing., But when I wanted to produce a room exactly 3.2 metres by 2.4 found it virtually impossible. Things have probably improved but if our writer is wanting to do real design work then go Windows. Tom |

| 291298 | 2004-11-16 07:07:00 | I have both... Mac g4 powerboook for travelling and serious stuff like work... and a p4 PC for fun... like games and the constant never ending stuff i can add to it...i love the mac the most because it is stylish and simple with no complications, but recommend pc purely for the widest range of software and more family friendly... also it has more variety of hardware to get... though saying that... for style hard to beat mac... | gstroud (6149) | ||
