2004-11-14 02:54:00 | hey there, just wondering are you a dairy farmer, and with fonterra? if you are you can get broadband alot cheaper than others, they even have some new wireless technology which is cheaper to you rather than the "townies" :p | Prescott (11) | |
2004-11-14 09:26:00 | hey. We do own a farm - just not diary!! I was also told about that, but just looking on the TC website, the Taranaki region can get xtra wireless for half price, so $750 installation, and $60ish for 1gb download!! and thats half price! No thanks :p

2004-11-14 09:33:00 | whats the jetstream flat rate now? like 69.95, if your dairy farmer i _think_ you can get it for like 49.95 but im not too sure...... | Prescott (11) | |
2004-11-14 09:38:00 | yea, only prob, i can't get ADSL... (see above) | fergie (424) | |
2004-11-14 20:52:00 | If you can get other users who connect through your local cabinet to commit to Jetstream and the dollar value to Telecom is greater than $500 then Telecom will look very seriously to installing a Conklin in your cabinet. If you can get the support from other users then dont ring the Telecom 0800 number. Ring your local Telecom office and ask for the local sales manager and put your case. You might be surprised. | Berryb (654) | |
2004-11-14 21:58:00 | well, i just spent the last hr on the phone to TC reps. I couldn't locate my 'local TC office' number. I had asked for it on the 0800 number, and they didn't no. Anyway, to sum it up (i talked to 5 different people, non of them even knew what Conklin was - then i spoke to someone who sorta knew what he was on about) and he said "to upgrade that, its going to cost TC more money than either your family and my family would ever possess" Lol, but surely it doesn't cost that much!!! He said, just register your interest on the site (which i have done), and tell everyone else to do the same (which i have also done) So yea, don't look good!
