291591 2004-11-14 04:36:00 sounds stuffed to me :)

For $15 you could get a new floppy drive - they're inexpensive... or you could spend a good $3 on a second hand one - check out trademe.co.nz

291592 2004-11-14 04:38:00 Are the power and data cables both plugged in? Is the data cable the correct way up (the noches don't always match)? Is the drive enabled in the BIOS? Does the drive light up and do stuff when you power on your computer?

291593 2004-11-14 04:39:00 You'd want to check all your internal connections (disk drive to motherboard)...

If they're all connected properly (if they are connected but upside down your drive light would be on constantly) then buy another FDD cable to test the drive with...

If it still doesn't work then I would buy another drive - you can get them for around $20 so no big deal.
