291599 2004-11-14 04:20:00 Hi,

Thought it might be nice to gather a few IM addresses of other PressF1 users in one place, 'cause no-one ever seems to use chatF1 much.

291600 2004-11-14 04:24:00 Well, might as well count me in:

Chilling_Silence [at] orcon [dot] net [dot] nz (MSN)
Chilling_Silence [at] jabber [dot] org [dot] nz (Jabber)
141557013 (ICQ)

I prefer Jabber.....

If I dont reply - Its because Im not at my Laptop and I dont like setting "Auto-Away" ;-)

291602 2004-11-14 06:27:00 Why not just make an argument for everyone to set the email address in their profile as "visible to others." Raymondo (5284)
291603 2004-11-14 06:31:00 Could do, but the reason I started this thread was because it takes a really long time to keep looking through profiles. If all the addresses were here, then anyone who wanted a collection of the PF1 addresses could get them.

291604 2004-11-14 06:32:00 Also, many people have a different IM address to what they have in their profile. Bletch (244)
291605 2004-11-14 06:34:00 For myself, it's not so much the concern of giving out my address, it's the concern of who would end up with it.

I seem to recall talk about IRC for PressF1 - not specifically here though. Whether it would fare better than ChatF1 is a moot point - though certainly IRC would carry much more geekiness with it than a web-based chatroom.

You would need to find an IRC host or for some one to set-up a IRC server.

291608 2004-11-14 07:39:00 The problem with this is that "Undesirables" will take and abuse.

Sadly so much of the net an its community has become victim to, Undesirable Anarchists.
